History

HEX was founded in 2005 by Dr Robert Trice, a recognised industry specialist in fractured reservoir evaluation, and James Hudleston a successful business entrepreneur. The intention is to use HEX as a vehicle to develop a business based initially on UK exploration and then to expand the company’s acreage position by spreading the portfolio to include opportunities outside of the UK. This vision is based on the belief that many overlooked exploration opportunities could be realised through the application of the niche expertise within the company.

Since 2005 the company has steadily grown by the acquisition of acreage through a series of successive UK licensing rounds and has a portfolio which includes third party verified contingent resources, ready to drill prospects and exploration leads.

The HEX philosophy is to remain a small team with limited bureaucracy. This flexibility allows the company to move rapidly in its quest for niche opportunities.
