Hurricane was created in 2005, bringing together the creativity and insight of Dr Robert Trice with the entrepreneurial acumen of James Hudleston, to create a new oil exploration and development business.

Through successful participation in a series of UK licencing rounds we have built a portfolio which includes third party verified contingent resources, ready to drill prospects and exploration leads.

The business began small, drawing on Robert’s broad experience in exploration, well-site operations and geological consultancy. Finance was sought and investment attracted, enabling Hurricane to begin operations. The company opened its Alton office in 2005.

In 2009 and 2010 Hurricane carried out drilling operations West of Shetland. Oil was discovered and in September 2011 the company went back to carry out a drill stem testing operation to further evaluate its Whirlwind prospect.

Hurricane has attracted a team of industry experts focused on fractured basement reservoirs.
